I am half filipino and felt compelled to organize a karma class to help raise funds for the Philippines. Having been to my mother’s land many times I know how these typhoons occur each year, but this one was a monster! Fortunately none of our immediate family were harmed, as they live in the mountains. However, a family friend living here in Canada mentioned he does have family who are struggling to survive this horrible natural disaster. Currently, there are five families living in his house that luckily did not get destroyed. It is pretty tight quarters, and I can’t begin to imagine what it would be like, especially not knowing how long it will be until life returns to “normal”. Nonetheless, I am happy to know all his family are alive and healthy. All I can do is hope that food, clothing, clean water, supplies and resources are quickly brought to the many people and areas in need to rebuild their lives.
